sing It
Well
hello again my friend it's been some time
Tell me every little thing that's been on your mind
Tell me everything good tell me everything bad
Tell me all of the joy tell me all of the sad
Do
you have a tale and have you told it
Do you have a dream and have you dreamt it
Do you have a song and have you sung it to anyone
Tell
me down deep inside have you found your peace
Has your soul known love is your heart in one piece
On your left on your right are there those who love you
Well my dear friend I hope that it's true
Do
you have a tale and have you told it
Do you have a dream and have you dreamt it
Do you have a song and have you sung it to anyone
As
for me I'm all right I've had my ups and my downs
My heart has flown it's crashed to the ground
And with every step I feel I've grown
I've known joy and sorrow from the seeds I have sewn
Yes
I have a tale and I will tell it
Yes I have a dream and I will dream it
Yes I have a song and I will sing it
To everyone

dreams
If the heart
were like the sun
It would never come undone
And every morning it would rise
But it seems
more like the rain
Sometimes falling down in pain
Before it rises to the skies
The heart
that grows must sometimes die
In our hearts
our dreams reside
Like a seed within our pride
A rose waiting to bloom
Weed the
garden of your fears
Water it with uncried tears
Step aside and give it room
Let it grow
Let it bloom
And every
city that I've ever seen
Is not as pretty as the journey in between
Do not be
afraid
Your dreams will never fade
They never go away
Just keep them in the sun
They'll never come undone
They'll come to you some day
To you your
dreams
Will find their way

and she cries
And to her
it seemed all a perfect dream
That somehow was leaving her leaving her behind
With her thoughts on future days nothing seemed to go her way
And she left the present day far behind
And just
out of reach
Are the things that they all preached
And she cries
For she thinks
she can control the motions of her soul
But she knows she'll never make never make the grade
And the joy that each day brings no longer can she sing
And she steps aside from the parade
And all her
many fears
Blossom into tears
And she cries
Now she walks
upon the fields suddenly she sees the yield
And the sunlight that warms her deep inside
And she sees we are but childs in a world grand and wild
And our days as brief as brief as the tides
And she knocks
upon the door
And she sees what she is for
She doesn't fight it anymore
And she cries
Now she lives
within the day and her tears have gone away
Serenely she walks upon the trail
And to all the days gone by she turns and says goodbye
And turns the page on the coming tale
And breathing
deep the sky
All the colors blind her eyes
And she feels like she can fly
And she cries

money in my jeans
Up on a hill
I heard a man say
Don't worry 'bout gold or diamonds today
Think of me often as you follow your path
Don't worry 'bout what you think the others may have
And as I
opened my ears to his words
The beauty and simplicity of what I had heard
Left me their spellbound as it seeped in my mind
Love in the wrong place I'd been tryin' to find
And the money
in my jeans
Ain't what I need to find my dreams
And my pride placed there up on the wall
Don't mean nothin' to me anymore after all
And as he
spoke no one made a sound
He spoke of the farmer with hands in the ground
Who looks for the places that hold fertile soil
So rich will be the harvest of his worthy toil
He spoke
of the fisherman who sought for the pearl
Who once he had found it relinquished the world
For is not one jewel all that you need
Remember these words as you go plant your seed
And the money
in my jeans
Ain't what I need to find my dreams
And my pride placed there up on the wall
Don't mean nothin' to me anymore after all

no surprise
Well I find
myself surprised
That everything within my eyes
Is not as I once thought it would be
But gracefully again I find
A peace much greater than my mind
A place I always hope to be
A place I know to fly so free
And on and
on the river runs
And its course never undone
Flowing strong against the sky
And I will let it run its course
With no regrets and no remorse
Mine is not the question why
It's always
hard to say goodbye
It's always hard to let things die

10.
one day
When I rise
in the morning I'll yawn and wipe my eyes
I will stretch to meet the rising sun
And I'll wonder what I'll see as the day comes to me
Then I'll pray and out the door I'll run
And out in
the day I'll hope things may go my way
All I meet I'll greet with a smile
But if things go bad and my happy turns to sad
I'll know you're with me all the while
Every now
and again I'll pause to remind me
All I've lost and all that I have won
Now that I'm learning the things that will blind me
My heart will never come undone
And when
I get home I know I won't be alone
I will dance and I will greet the stars
I will revel in the night by a soothing candle light
With my self my soul and my guitar
And as I
reach my bed I will humbly bow my head
The day that was is now the day behind
With all that I have seen I will hope for gentle dreams
Of fruit ripening on the vine
But before
I sleep I'll pause to remind me
All I've lost and all that I have won
Now that I'm learning the things that will blind me
My heart will never come undone

billy
Billy looked
out his window
Saw the trees blowin' in the wind
Said Lord I'm in a tight spot
Here I go again
So many roads out there
Which one shall I choose
Does one mean I win
The other I lose
And a wise
man told Billy
Nothing remains unchanged
The trick he said young man
Is to simply stay in the game
And do not fear the blowin' of the breeze
Spread your wings
Let it take you where ever it please
Billy said
he will try to be a simple man
To tread softly upon the ever shifting sand
And to share his music with the band
Serenity and love go hand in hand
So out on
that highway
Again Billy rides
His face to the wind
His heart upon the tides
And now he will follow the setting sun
Although he doesn't know it
Billy's already won
And he will
try to be a simple man
To tread softly upon the ever shifting sand
And to share his music with the band
Serenity and love go hand in hand

road behind
I sit outside
strummin' as you walk on by
I ask where ya goin' you won't tell me why
I ask you to slow as I grab my guitar
Wherever you go no matter how far
When you
hunger I'll bring you some bread
And when you tire I'll help you to bed
And as the
miles pass by will you let me inside
Share your heart with me the music inside
Or will you think it's funny that I ask at all
Will the rose that I offer pass through your wall
And when
I hunger will you bring me some bread
And when I tire will you help me to bed
Well I've known it's better to give than receive
But when your heart's empty it's sometimes hard to believe
So just one more question as we walk along
Will you be here with me when I finish my song
I'll stop
for a while
Relax in the shade
And rest my feet weary
As the road behind fades

moonrise
In a place
not far away
He can see the squirrels play
With there nuts to fill their hole
With a laugh to fill his soul
With their
garden fresh and green
Remember well the place he's seen
As the grass leans towards the sun
And the stars complete their run
Another morning
his thoughts are filled
And his heart he tries to still
Cold water revives the face
Daydream to that special place
Bright of day lights his room
Winter snow melts into June
Then the heat of summer flew
Where it's gone he wished he knew
In the night
he'll close his eyes
There again to realize
Like a shelter from the storm
With its glow so cool and warm
Full moonrise
Starlit skies
But even
still he thinks of her
The dream that once he wished that were
But the soul and heart repair
But can't forget what's always there
Even though it's been an end
All his love again he'll send
Blossoms bright sometimes don't last
The looking man don't move too fast
And the words
he wished were there
Mentioned now within his prayer
Like the bird who longs the tree
Comes the light he yearns to see

12.
nothing owed
It's been
great to see you
My long dear friend
I've heard that cliché
All good things must end
But I don't believe it
It's just so long
Write me a letter
Send me a song
And I can't
believe how our time did fly
The times that we laughed the time that we cried
And I wouldn't trade for a chest full of gold
The glory we've shared
The stories we've told
So let us
walk
A simple road
The one less traveled
An easy load
And we will find
All our dues have been paid
Nothing owed
And I know
again
Our paths will cross
Like the ground pulls back
The stone that is tossed
When we meet again
We'll share a tune
So long my friend
I'll see you soon
So let us
walk
A simple road
The one less traveled
An easy load
And we will find
All our dues have been paid
Nothing owed

6.
cross of gold
The face
of my love
Is fading away
Like wings of a dove
Softly flying away
Lord to this girl
Wrap her sweetly in your peace
Give her the world
And from her all of her fears released
Let there
be no harm
Take her close
In your loving arms
Glorious
times
The times we would play
Her heart with mine
Loving the day
Now that
the story's told
Let our days shine
Through this cross of gold
Give her
the nights
Give her the stars sweet light
Please hold her tight
Give her wings
Give her flight
Now that
the story's told
Let our days shine
Through this cross of gold
All of our
days
Are fading away
The bird that has flown
Is not meant to stay

13.
shine
I can see
you shinin'
A thousand miles away
I know that you've been tryin'
Words you could not say
Tell me are you runnin'
Away or goin' to
I trust that your heart's smilin'
Flies to something new
Memories
fly by
Pictures in a hall
I try to walk on by
Still I hear them call
Sometimes
I feel you cryin'
A thousand miles away
I hope your tears are dryin'
Time sweeps them away
Memories
fly by
Photos in a row
A ribbon once untied
Becomes another bow
Can you see
me shinin'
A thousand miles away
The music keeps on playin'
Carries me away
Memories
fly by
Sketches in the sand
Pass before my eye
And trickle through my hand

7.
cast a line
Once upon
a yesterday
I saw this guitar and I began to play
And ever since it's been my best friend
The music plays I hope it never ends
Just like
fishin' is a lot like life
Cast a line maybe a fish will bite
Once upon
a long ago
For two whole years I stubbed my toe
And stubbin' toes sure don't feel good
I've learned my lesson though knock on wood
Just like
fishin' on the river bend
You cast your line and then do it again
Once upon
a long long time
I met a flower I called her mine
Oh this flower had the prettiest bloom
She loved the spring but was gone by June
You gotta
go fishin' if you want to see
If you'll catch a fish or snag a tree
I think that
fishin' is a lot like life
Cast a line maybe a fish will bite
|
14.
summer field
Walk along
this summer field
Let me share this peace I feel
Wading through my favorite stream
Cast my line and fish my dream
Though things
I've loved have been denied
Sometimes I just misplace my pride
Sunburst
yellow beating down
Wind in the trees the only sound
Streamlined shadows offer shade
Like the songs I've sung and played
My sweet
Lord
I must confide
This path I've walked
Been quite a ride
The garden's
here
To every side
The music plays
Deep inside
